What is Rise Europe?
At its heart, Rise Europe is all about community and collaboration. It brings together startup ecosystem builders from 13 countries across Europe with a single goal: to empower startups that are solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges, like climate change and resource scarcity. By fostering a diverse and sustainable entrepreneurship culture, Rise Europe helps early-stage companies get the support, resources, and networks they need to scale their businesses and become global leaders.
What’s so special about Rise Europe is that it doesn’t just focus on scaling for the sake of growth. Instead, it’s all about scaling purposefully—ensuring that these startups build products, services, and technologies that positively impact the European economy. The network operates on strong European values like cooperation and sustainability, helping these ventures navigate the complexities of growing a business while staying true to their mission.
What Was the Madrid Meeting?
In April 2024, we had the pleasure of participating in Rise Europe’s annual meeting, held at the beautiful IE University campus in Madrid. This event brought together some of Europe’s brightest minds in innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. The focus? How can we all work together to build a future where European start-ups and scale-ups thrive here on the continent and don’t just pick up and leave for Silicon Valley?
It’s More than the Number of Unicorns!
Yope was invited to give a keynote on our guiding principle of conscious innovation—which isn’t just about creating new things but doing so with intention and a focus on long-term, positive change. Our talk resonated deeply with the attendees, and we’re proud to say it was a major inspiration for the 2030 Rise Europe goals. These goals now include a strong emphasis on applying European values of positive change and ensuring we support startups and scale-ups in the network that want to make a lasting, meaningful difference.
The Madrid meeting was a pivotal moment for us at Yope, not only because of the connections we made but also because of the alignment in values between us and the Rise Europe community. Together, we’re building something much bigger than any one company— we’re building a movement.
